The Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Mercer County held their annual picnic recently and were presented with a donation of sporting goods and equipment from Christine's Hope for Kids Foundation. Among the new and gently used items were baseball bats and gloves, soccer, tennis and golfing equipment, hula hoops, jump ropes and a variety of athletic footwear. The kids were excited to see all of the great items they were going to be able to use, and doubly so when they heard the next bit of news.
Not only did the Christine's Hope for Kids donation assure that Big Brothers and Big Sisters would have sports equipment for the great work they do as a group, but each child was allowed to take an item home! Now the kids will have some help in staying active and enjoying what should be a terrific summer!
