Hopewell resident Christine Gianacaci was only 22 when she journeyed to Haiti in January, along with several other classmates from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. Their mission: to help children and feed the poor. But when a massive earthquake struck the poor island nation on Jan. 12, Christine, three other students and two professors were killed when their hotel in Haiti’s capitol, Port-au-Prince, collapsed.
On Sunday, local musicians will help raise money for Christine’s Hope for Kids at a benefit to be held at the Headliner, on Route 35 South in Neptune. For a donation of only $10, attendees can listen to great music by Bobby Bandiera, License to Chill, featuring Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez, Chik-a-Boom, Outside the Box and Gene Boccia.
