After enduring Hurricane Irene and all the wet ground we were fortunate to be able to hold our golf event as scheduled. With a little creative thinking from Head Golf Professional Keith Stewart and Green’s Superintendent Kevin Breuer the format was changed to accommodate the golfers with use of only 14 holes. At the end of the day we had 188 golfers and over 250 people at the evening barbecue. We are proud to report we raised over $60,000 again this year!
Another tremendous highlight of this great day was the presentation of Head Professional Keith Stewart’s donation to Christine’s Hope for Kids from the100 Holes of Hope Golf Marathon held on September 4th. Keith and his Assistant Professional Andy Richardson played 136 holes of golf in 9.5 hours. Members of Springdale Golf Club and Friends of Christine’s Hope for Kids sponsored them for a certain amount of money per hole played. Well, they played 136 holes…and raised over $20,000!!!!
It was truly amazing and wonderful. Just think of all the smiles we can put on children’s faces with over $80,000!!!!
